Wang Zheng, PhD, Visiting Scholar at ETH Zurich, Class‑I Registered Architect of P.R.China.

His main teaching and research focus lies in architectural and urban design. He teaches design‑studio and theoretical courses for undergraduate and postgraduate students. His major research interests include public building programming and design, quantitative research of urban morphology and urban design, and sustainable urban renewal.

He is the author of the monograph Enquiry into Function: The Evolution of the Notions of Function in West Architecture since the 18th Century, and the co-author of An Introduction to Urban Design, the 14th‑Five‑Year‑Plan textbook issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban‑Rural Development of China. He has co‑translated the Chinese edition of books including Modern Architecture through Case Studies 1945 to 1990 and Design Cities: Critical Readings in Urban Design, and has published more than 20 papers in major Chinese core journals.

He has presided over 1 national-level scientific research project and participated in 3 others, and holds 2 authorized national invention patents. He has won over 10  national and provincial design awards for architectural and urban design. In 2016, he was awarded the 11th "China Architectural Design Award · Young Architect Prize" by the Architectural Society of China.
